Mommy is back at work...

Good morning sunshine!

 Now that Mommy is back at work, I am spending my days with Ms. Kim and Alexis.  Mommy wakes me up very early every morning (at 5:30 am) and feeds me.  Daddy gets me dressed and buckles me into my car seat and then Mommy drives me to Ms. Kim's house on her way to school.  Afterschool Mommy either picks me up or Ms. Kim drops me off in the parent pickup line at school.  This week has been very hard for Mommy because she misses me so much while she is at work...but Ms. Kim sends her the Daily Dose (via e-mail) everyday with pictures of me smiling, laughing and looking cute!  Mommy looks forward to those emails because they come right to her phone and they always make her smile!

Ms. Kim also keeps a daily journal of everything I am doing....what I ate, when I slept and what activity I did.  Mommy and Daddy are so happy that I'm staying busy with Ms. Kim and Alexis.  This week I did lots of tummy time and exercising.  I played with some Baby Einstein Toys.  My favorite was the ladybug with the mirror on its belly and the toy laptop (I may be able to take over the typing of my blog sooner than Mommy thought).  I also played with Alexis...she likes to take my shoes and socks off and tickle my feet!  Of course I did lots of napping too!  We took some special excursions this week too.  On Monday, we went to the soft play gym.  I liked the colors and the mirrors!  On Wednesday (Valentine's Day), we went to the pet store.  I got really excited looking at all of the birds!!!  I was a little bit cranky on Thursday and Friday because I am getting over a cold and I'm more tired now that Mommy is waking me up so early.  Now I know how she felt when I was first born and would wake her and Daddy up every two hours to eat.  Mommy hopes I get used to my new wakeup time soon and start going to sleep earlier.  On Friday I stayed at school with Mommy for a little while after the kids had left so she could do some organizing and preparing for next week.  I got to see lots of Mommy's friends and everyone thought I was so cute as usual!

Little Miss Heartbreaker and Little Mr. Cassanova

On Thursday, Mommy and me visited Shannon and Baby Logan for a belated Valentine's Day picture after school.  I wore my special "heartbreaker" onesie that Logan got me for Valentine's Day and he wore his "cassanova" onesie.  We took lots of pictures...sitting on the chair...laying on the floor.  Shannon and Mommy kept laughing because Logan didn't want to sit next to me.  He kept sliding down, rolling over and leaning in front of me.  I was laughing because Shannon and Mommy were laughing.

I'm a lucky girl because I have so many people who love me...especially my five grandparents who love to come visit me and spend time with me...and this week I got to spend time with all of them!!!

On our way home we stopped at Panera Bread to pick up some soups and salads for our lunch date with Nana.  I was a sleepy girl so I wasn't as talkative as Nana was hoping but I did show her a few smiles while she was playing with me and holding me.  Daddy showed Nana how good I am at sitting in my Bumbo seat and I showed Nana how I like to play with the hanging toys on my Baby Neptune Play Mat.  While Nana was playing with me, Daddy decided to take a nap and Mommy built my Rainforest Exersaucer.  When Nana went home...Daddy, Mommy and me went to the basement to watch the Superbowl on Daddy's big TV.

Glory Days !!!



On Monday Mommy and Daddy took me to Glory Days Grill to meet BettyGram and GrandDad for dinner.  I was sleeping when we got there but when I woke up I was very excited by all of the TVs because I love watching TV!  BettyGram and GrandDad wanted to hold me and take some pictures but it was hard to get me to focus because I was so distracted by all of the TVs!  But...we did manage to get a few good pictures!

Rockin the Red!

Tuesday was a very exciting day because Mommy and Daddy took me to another Caps game at the Verizon center and this time...the CAPS WON!  I was so happy to see my first victory...although I'm not crazy about the loud buzzer that sounds everytime the good guys score.  I ended up sleeping for most of the game but I did come out of the Baby Bjorn for a few minutes to meet some of Mommy and Daddy's season ticket holder friends.

  Another visit from Saba and Savta!

                                                                                                                      On Wednesday me and Mommy went to our last New Mom's group because next week Mommy is going back to work and I am starting daycare.  Mommy dressed me up in one of my special Valentine's Day outfits so that I would look really cute for all of my "boyfriends" and their Mommies.  I wore a red tutu and white tights with pink and red hearts on them and of course my red Mary Janes from Old Navy.  When we got home Saba and Savta were at our house.  They came to visit me and to help Mommy get ready to go back to work....and they missed me already!  On Thursday, Mommy had to have an MRI on her knee so we all went with her and Saba and Savta played with me in the waiting room while Mommy was gone.

 On Thursday night, Mommy told me that we had to go to bed early because she had to work the next day and she wakes up at 5:00 am...I'm used to staying up late with her...so Mommy didn't think it would be easy to get me to go to bed early.  Luckily, Savta and Saba were there to play with me until I was tired enough to go to sleep for the night.

First day at Daycare!

Mommy couldn't believe how quickly we got out of the house on Friday morning for her first day back to work.  Daddy was a good helper!  He got me dressed, clicked me into my carseat and warmed up Mommy's car.  Saba wakes up early everyday so he helped Mommy too by loading the car with all of my extra stuff for daycare and all of Mommy's school stuff.  We have a lot of stuff between the two of us.  We got to Ms. Kim's house by 6:45 and Mommy got to school by 7:00!  Mommy had a hard time leaving me because I'm so cute and she cried a lot...I knew because she had red eyes when she picked me up.  Even though it was hard for Mommy...I had a great day with Ms. Kim and Alexis.  Alexis is Ms. Kim's daughter and she is 18 months old...just like me cousin Alie.  They even have the same exact birthday.  Mommy's former student Christopher was there too.  I was a happy girl all day!  Ms. Kim sent Mommy a few pictures to show her how happy I was and how well I was getting along with Alexis.

Back in the POOL!

Sundays are for swimming...so I was back in the pool on Sunday for my Splish Splash Baby Class.  Mommy dressed me in my heart bathing suit because it's almost Valentine's day.  Everyone thought I looked so sweet!  This week Mommy and Daddy both swam with me again.  I am starting to kick my legs now when I am on my tummy in the water.  I am also better at floating on my back and can float with less support from Mommy and Daddy.  I'm still not a huge fan of tummy time but I get by with a little help from my friends (Cameron and William this week).

Violet and the Boys

Spending time with my friends at Mom's Group.

This week I spent a lot of time playing with my friends from the New Mom's Group.  Because most of the other babies are boys, I'm pretty much always surrounded by boys...which Mommy thinks is cute...but Daddy isn't as crazy about.  Mommy loves to shop and dress me up so she always puts me in my cutest girly outfits when we're going out to meet the other mommies and their baby boys!  Most of mommy's friends think I have the cutest shoe collection!

On Tuesday, Mommy and me went to Potomac Yards to see the Mommy and Me movie and have lunch with Christopher and his mommy Erin & Benjamin and his mommy Sonia.  The three of us were a little fussy during the movie...but the three mommies still enjoyed the movie.  

Wednesdays are of course Mom's Group days so Mommy and me went to INOVA Fair Oaks to meet up with the other moms and babies and then went out to lunch at Red Robin.  It was a picture day at Mom's Group!

Friday was the most fun day this week because Mommy and me were invited to a playdate party at Jeremy's house hosted by him mom Julie.  We arrived at Jeremy's house at 11:00 am and ended up staying until 5:00 pm because we were having so much fun!  Daddy came home a little early from work to surprise us and we weren't home because we were still hanging out with the other babies...poor Daddy.  Mommy thought I should be sytlish for my playdate so she dressed me up in my black tank top, black sweater, black leggings and  my turquoise leopard print tutu skirt. I wore my purple shoes because I don't have turquoise shoes...but I kicked those off early into the playdate!

Officially 3 Months Old

Happy 3 Months!

Can you believe I'm already three months old?  Yep..it's true. 
I was officially three months on January 28th!  Mommy and Daddy can't believe how fast I'm growing, how big I'm getting and how strong I am.  I'm doing lots of new things all the time.  This week I've started trying to sit up by myself.  When I'm in my Boppy...I like to pull myself up and try to sit up without any support and I LOVE sitting in my Bumbo seat.  I still love standing on feet and dancing too.  Mommy and I have been watching Ellen lately and Mommy always helps me dance when Ellen dances.  And of course I'm smiling a lot these days...when Mommy picks me up in the morning after a long night's sleep, when Daddy comes home from work and plays with me, when Mommy sings silly songs with me and when Daddy takes me in the pool for swimming lessons.  Here are some pictures of me with my onesie sticker for three months from Mommy's friend Caitlin.  This month I'm a cotton candy!

Sundays are for Swimming!

Mommy was supposed to play hockey on Sunday morning so it was going to be just me and Daddy for swimming this week but Mommy ended up hurting her knee so she couldn't go to hockey. Instead she came with us to swimming and got some pictures of me and Daddy splashing around.  I am getting much better at floating on my back and kicking my legs when I am on my tummy...and this time I didn't try to drink the water like I did last week.
