Going Green

Spring is here...

Or is summer here?  We had very warm weather this week here in Northern Virginia and I got to enjoy plenty of sunshine and fresh air!  During the week, Ms. Kim and Alexis took me out for a few walks in the stroller.  We went to the park together and walked the trails near Mommy's school.  Mommy had trouble dressing me this week because I'm still wearing my three month clothes and they are mostly winter clothes.  Mommy and Ms. Kim were both worried that I was too hot in my pants and sweaters.  Mommy also had to pull out my watermelon sun-hat to shade me while I am outside enjoying the sunshine.  She noticed that I turn pink very quickly and since I'm not allowed to use sunscreen yet, I need to keep my face protected from the sun.  On Sunday afternoon, I went on a nice walk with Mommy and Daddy too!  We waited until the sun wasn't as strong and walked through the wooded trails behind our house.  I liked the bumpy path and kept laughing and chattering as I bounced and bumped along in the stroller.

I really love going for walks with Mommy and Daddy.

Here is a video of me chatting and laughing with Daddy during our walk.

John Adams GREEN Party!

How cute am I?

On Friday, Mommy took me to a special "green themed" party with her John Adams teacher friends.  Mommy dressed me up in one of my new outfits...a green Ralph Lauren dress with matching bloomers and my purple and green Jasmine shoes that the Gould Family bought for me at Eastern Market.  There was a contest for the most spirited dresser and I WON in the baby division!  My prize was glittery shamrock antennas on a headband.  Mommy put the headband on me and I looked so cute!!!  I may not be Irish but I sure know how to rock the Shamrocks!  I had fun at the party.  My friends Garrett and Eleanor were there and some new friends George, Lucy, Grace and Tyler.  I had fun watching some of the round one basketballs games in the basement with Mommy's friend Elizabeth...who I love!  Lots of Mommy's friends wanted to hold me.  Everyone is always impressed that I never cry or fuss!

I love Mommy's friend Elizabeth!

I love Mommy's friend Kerri too!

On Saturday, while Daddy was in Atlantic City, Mommy and I went to our St. Patrick's Day playdate at Julie and Jeremy's house.  Mommy picked out my outfit earlier in the week and my new headband made the perfect finishing touch to my outfit so I rocked my shamrocks again!  It was funny because four of my friends showed up wearing matching outfits and they looked so cute...but you know me...I always like to stand out!

Happy St. Patty's Day!
Where are my friends?  I'm ready to take the picture!

Getting in a Routine...

Mondays are hard...even for babies!

Because Sundays are my swimming days and swimming always tuckers me out...Mondays are almost as hard for me as they are for Mommy and Daddy...ALMOST!  I don't like when Mommy wakes me up early on Mondays but I do like being with Ms. Kim and Alexis so I guess it's worth getting woken up at 5:30 a.m...besides I'm a baby and I get to make up for my early wake up time with naps throughout the day!  I do so many fun things with Ms. Kim and Alexis.  We love to take trips to the soft play gym and the pet store...especially because the weather has been so nice.  When we're not out and about...we are always exercising my legs and playing with sensory toys.  And Alexis and me love to sit next to each other and drink out bottles.  Here are pictures from the Daily Doses that Ms. Kim sends to Mommy everyday!

Me smiling at Alexis.  We both love milk!
The ladybug is my most favorite toy!
I've started to really laugh when I think something is funny!

Big smile...happy girl!

Am I cute or what?!?

Fridays are FUN...especially for babies!

On Friday Mommy let me hang out at school for a little while after Ms. Kim dropped me off.  I went upstairs to the fourth grade classrooms to visit Eleanor's Mommy Stacy because she loves babies!  Afterwards, Mommy took me to Bus Buys and Poets in Shirlington for Happy Hour with her monthly happy hour friends.  Daddy got out of work a little bit early and met us there too!  Mommy's friends all think I'm so cute so we played a few rounds of pass the baby Violet!

Me and Martha in my favorite color...purple!
Me and my favorite babysitter Sheila hanging out!
Sheila is going to have a baby in June but she'll still love me too!

Hooray!  Daddy came to Happy Hour too!

Very stylish!

Weekends are wonderful...for Mommy, Daddy and Me!

In our house everybody loves the weekends.  Even though Mommy's days of sleeping in until 11:00 are over...Saturday and Sunday are still enjoyable days for the Fritz Family.  On Saturdays and Sundays...Mommy makes her bed around me like we used to do everyday when Mommy was home from work.  I love helping Mommy make the bed.  I like to try to eat the sheets and blankets as Mommy parachutes them in the air.  Sometimes Mommy hides me in the pillows and pretends she can't find me.  Mommy says, "Where's Baby Violet?"...and if I could talk I would say, "Here I am!"  Instead I just smile and laugh at Mommy!  Daddy likes to play too!
On the weekend I also love to play with all of the toys Mommy and Daddy have set up for me around our house like my Snug-a-Bunny Swing and my Rainforest Bouncer!  My new favorites are my Rainforest Jumparoo (I can't reach the floor yet so I can't jump...but I like spinning the toys and watching the flashing lights) and my Baby Neptune Floor Gym that I've recently rediscovered now that I can reach and grab the hanging toys.  Sometimes I play before Mommy and Daddy even get me dressed!

I can finally reach the hanging toys and I still love making faces at myself in the mirror!

I love my JUMPAROO!
Of course on Sundays we always go swimming.  I have finally outgrown my 0-3 month swimsuits so Mommy and Savta have gone on a shopping spree buying cute new swimsuits for me!  My swimming skills have improved so much since I first got in the water two months ago.  I can almost back float totally on my own...I need a little under the head support from Mommy or Daddy.  I am also brave enough to go under the water now and getting more used to Mommy pouring water over my head and dunking me!

Mommy and Daddy also took me to another Caps game on Sunday because it was an early game and they didn't think it would throw off my sleep schedule too much.  I had so much fun at the game.  I am loving being in the Baby Bjorn now that I can face out!  The best part of the game was that I finally witnessed a CAPS VICTORY!  I've seen one or two live before but it was good to be there for this one!

Four months flies by when you're having FUN!

Mommy and me got a little behind on our blogging for the past two weeks because the stomach bug invaded our house and made everyone sick.  Daddy got sick first and was hurting all weekend.  We were supposed to go to the Caps game together but Daddy ended up coming home and going straight to sleep while Mommy and me watched the game on TV.  As soon as Daddy started feeling better...Mommy got sick and had to miss a day of work.  I got to stay home with Mommy..even my tummy was bugging me for a day BUT we're all better now and ready to catch you up on what I've been doing during my blogging hiatus (besides our tummy troubles!).  So here are some of the highlights from the past two weeks!

Happy FOUR months to ME!!!

I'm officially four months old now...18 weeks if you're measuring in weeks!  Mommy and Daddy helped me celebrate by taking pictures of me with my four month onesie sticker.  I'm a candy apple this month!  I had to go to see Dr. Suzie for my four month checkup this week.  She said I'm perfect and gave me a clean bill of health.  She wanted to know how Mommy gets any work done with me around because I'm so stinkin cute!  Mommy said she really doesn't get any work done with me around.

Here are my stats from this checkup:

Weight: 12 pounds, 10 inches (23% percentile)
Height: 24 inches (39% percentile)
Hair: Just a little bit...light brown in color
Eyes: Still grey

I had to get more immunizations at my appointment today.  Mommy had to hold my arms down while two nurses put the shots in my thighs.  Mommy said it would be hard to tell if I was swollen because I already have chubby thighs.  I cried a little bit but stopped as soon as Mommy picked me up.  I liked the oral vaccine even though I decided to blow bubbles with it instead of swallowing it like I was supposed to.  Because I'm doing great...I wont have to go back to Dr. Suzie until I'm six months old!

President's Day Play Date...

From left to right: Viktor, Ethan, Jeremy, Me (Violet), William,
Logan, Brooklyn, Julia, Christopher, Cameron & Caroline
Mommy and Daddy both had Monday off in honor of President's Day so we got to enjoy a three day weekend together.  Of course we all went to my swim class at Swim Kids on Sunday morning.  Coach Lauren was at a conference for swim coaches so we had Coach Erin this week instead.  I had a lot of fun floating in the water and swimming with my friends.  Mommy and Daddy forget their camera so we weren't able to get any pictures of me in the pool this week.  On Monday...we all went to my friend Jeremy's house for a presidential playdate with eleven other babies and mommies.  Mommy likes this picture of us on the couch because Jeremy is holding my pacifier in for me.  I'm near the middle in my pink fur boots and blue jean jumper.  I was happy because my best friend Logan came with his mommy Shannon.  Daddy even got to come with us this time because he made plans to hang out with Jeremy's dad, William's dad and Benjamin's dad because he knows them from swimming class.  The dads had a fun time in the basement while all of the mommies and babies played upstairs.

Here is a picture of me resting while Logan takes a nap.
Some of the babies took their naps but I was too excited to sleep!

Katie Fritz Memorial Concert

Let's party people!

On Saturday, we went to Annapolis for the Katie Fritz Memorial concert in honor of Daddy's sister Katie who passed away when she was fifteen.  Nana's friend Marilyn performed with the Mount Calvary United Methodist Inspirational Choir.  They wore purple this year...my favorite color!  Mommy and Daddy weren't sure if I was going to like the choir because they sing really loud but I LOVED it!  I was dancing with Mommy and watching the sopranos who were singing right in front of me!  Everyone thought I was so cute in my polka dot party dress and glittery shoes.  I even got to see Aunt Nancy, Uncle Scott and Uncle Ned who I hadn't seen since New Year's Day!  My new friend baby Katie Maureen was there too...she looked pretty in her ivory party dress!

Singing and dancing with Nana at the concert.

After the concert...we went back to Nana's house to hang out for a little bit.  Mommy decided to help my try out my rocking horse that Nana got for me for Christmas.  We left it there for me to play with when I visit..atleast until I'm big enough to ride it by myself.

Me and Nana dressed up for the concert.

Nana and her favorite girls...Violet Kamae and Katie Maureen.

Dynamite Daycare Duo!

Smiling at Ms. Kim

I am having so much fun with Ms. Kim and Alexis everyday at daycare while Mommy is at work.  We do so many fun things...going to the soft play gym, visiting the pet store, going for walks and playing with sensory toys indoors when the weather is rainy or cold.  Ms. Kim always says such nice things about me and that makes Mommy really happy because she knows I'm in good hands with people who love me (don't forget Alexis!) while she has to be at work.  Here are some pictures that Ms. Kim took of me during the past two weeks and sent to Mommy in Daily Dose e-mails.

All dressed up on my 4 month birthday!

Ooops...Ms Kim caught me drooling.
Sometimes Alexis does tummy time with me!

Sometimes I like to eat my toys.

Look how good I am on my tummy these days.

Now we are both in the mirror!
I love playing with my best buddy Alexis.

Alexis teaches me lots of things.
Here we are reading together.

Swimming on Sunday

Today I was back in the pool for my Sunday Splish Splash Baby Class with Mommy and Daddy.  We had a lot of new babies this week and the pool was kind of crowded but I had fun in my stations with two new friends...Baby Joseph and Baby Jake.  These days I'm really comfortable on my tummy when I have the noodle around me.  Mommy helps me swim and Daddy helps me kick my legs since I don't always do that on my own.  My favorite song at swim class is the dinosaur song...Mommy thinks that one is Daddy's favorite too!  Now that I am four months...Mommy thinks I am ready to start going under the water even though underwater submersions don't really start until the six month class...so she's started dunking me in the water.  I don't cry but I get a little stunned everytime I go under!

Daddy got a picture of me right after Mommy dunked me.
Do I look happy?  Stunned?
Atleast I'm not crying!

Ready for swimming.
Hey look...Daddy got a haircut!

Rockin the Red!

I've only been to a few Caps games in my four months...but the team doesn't seem to be playing well when I'm around.  I would take it personally except that Mommy says they aren't play good even when we don't go...come on boys!  It's time to rally so we can Rock the Red all the way into June!

Daddy and Me cheering.
C-A-P-S CAPS, CAPS, CAPS!
