Summer has gone by too fast! And even though Mommy and I have had a lot of time together...it doesn't seem like enough. To make the most of the last few weeks before Mommy goes back to work...the Fritz Family (me, Mommy and Daddy) took a one week vacation to Smith Mountain Lake with some of Mommy's best friends...Sheila and baby Claire, Karen, Julie, my photographer Nic, and my two favorite puppies Haley and Lola.

Enjoying the WATER!
With so many swimsuits and only a week at the lake...I had to make the most of my days by playing and swimming in the water. Early in the week, Mommy used beach towels and an umbrella to set up a shaded little playspot for me and baby Claire to enjoy. Daddy and Sheila helped Mommy fill the pool with some water from the lake and Mommy unpacked my favorite pool toys for me to play with.

Mommy decided it would be fun to rent a paddleboard for a day and everyone else decided it would be fun too so Daddy drove to downtown Moneta to rent one. Mommy and Karen had fun working on their balance while paddling around in the water and Daddy decided to take the paddleboard out fishing one afternoon. I decided to lay on the paddleboard and practice bodysurfing close to the shore in my Swim Kids wetsuit.

Even though I loved playing in my baby pool and on the paddleboard...most of our water fun was spent floating in the lake. Mommy bought a baby float that was just for me and Sheila bought Claire her very own float too! I also brought my noodle and noodle connector from Swim Kids to the lake so I could do some swimming. Mommy, Karen, Julie and me had so much fun floating near the dock. I didn't want to wear my sun hats most of the time but Mommy said I couldn't be out in the sun without my hat so I stopped trying to take if off after awhile!

When we weren't in the water swimming, floating, paddling and splashing...we were busy having fun hanging out and relaxing on the deck in the sun. Don't worry....Mommy is very good about lathering me up with SPF 50 sunscreen and making me wear my sunhats!

Fishing with Daddy
I may not be ready to hold my own fishing pole yet but I did enjoy watching Daddy fish while we were at the lake. Daddy bought some night crawlers at the gas station to use for bait and brought some of his fishing gear from home so he could catch a fish for me. Mommy thinks fish are disgusting and would never touch a slimy fish...so I must take after Daddy because when Daddy pulled his first fish (a little spot) out of the water...I grabbed it with both hands!!!

Sleepy Little Monkey
Having so much fun in the sun can really make a little monkey tired....so I did a lot of napping at the lake too! My favorite afternoon nap spot was out on the deck in somebody's arms (usually Julie's) and my favorite evening spot was on Claire's changing mat. With all my daytime napping...I didn't want to go to sleep at night so I was usually the last person to go to sleep at night!

Happy Anniversary to Mommy and Daddy!
Mommy and Daddy's second wedding anniversary came while we were at the lake! Julie and Karen offered to babysit for me while Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner to celebrate. I can be a lot to handle sometimes so it was a good thing there were two Westcott sisters to watch me and Sheila and Claire for backup. We all went for a walk together and then Julie warmed up a bottle for me to drink. I had so much fun playing.

At the start of lake week...I was a little nervous about Karen's baby (doggy) Haley being at the lake because I don't have a doggy at home so I'm not used to lots of licking and sniffing...but by the end of the week I was playing, cuddling and feeding Haley. Even though Lola only stayed one day...I had fun with her too!

Pizza, Ice Cream and Crazy Karp
On Sheila and Claire's last night at SML we took them into downtown Moneta to our favorite pizza and ice cream spot. Mommy watched Claire while she was sleeping in her carrier so that Daddy and me could show Sheila the famous crazy Karp that gather in the boat slips where people feed them pizza crust. Mommy thinks they are disgusting!!! We got pizza for dinner and then had ice cream for dessert while listening to some very bad Kareoke and watching some little kids bounce on the trampoline. Maybe next year I'll be ready for mini golf at Harbourtown Golf...before leaving we took a group picture with Moosie!

I bet you're wondering...
Am I mobile yet? Well...no not really. I am good at getting myself positioned to crawl and I can do the downward dog yoga pose pretty well but I have not actually moved in a crawling position yet. I am very good at reaching/lunging at things from on all fours and I can scoot around on my bum a little bit but I don't cover any real distance. However...I am very good at pulling myself up to standing and I'm ready to take a step anyday now! Do I like eating yet? Nope! I'm not making things any easier for Mommy by opening my mouth for a spoon or putting my own pieces of food in my mouth. Do I talk? I have "dada" down but I use it for babbling and not neccessarily to name Daddy. I think "mama" is a funny word and I laugh at it but I won't say it. I like the sound "ba" which Mommy thinks is me asking for milk. I also like to scream when I get excited! Do I have any teeth? Nope! Not yet!
