On the Fritz: May 2013

Time has been flying by and our family really has been on the fritz lately. With my baby brother scheduled to arrive in three weeks and Caps playoff hockey in full swing....we've been really busy!

Now that I'm growing more hair...Mommy likes to give me pigtails and ponytails and bows!

Stats and Stuff

Last week Mommy took me for my eighteen month checkup with Dr. Suzie. Now that I know what to expect when I go to the doctor...SHOTS...I am not a happy patient and I cry and hug Mommy a lot! Luckily, this time I didn't need to get any shots because I was all up to date but I did have to get my finger pricked for a blood test and I did NOT like that! I kept saying "uh oh" because I couldn't shake the bandaid off of my finger! Dr. Suzie went through a list of milestones with Mommy. She wanted to know if I could walk backwards, run, use a spoon, color with crayons, etc. She also asked Mommy if I knew atleast three words which made Mommy laugh because I love to talk and I know way more than three words in both English and Spanish.

Eye Color: Hazel

Hair Color: Dirty Blond/ Light Light Brown

Feet: Still BIG (size 5)

Teeth: Still only two bottom teeth but two are just starting to show on the top!

Learning New Things

Now that I am getting older and learning so many new things...I love participating in the arts and crafts learning activities at daycare. For St. Patick's Day I made a leprechan hat and a shamrock wand. I wore my hat and carried my wand all around the house. Mommy had to keep reminding me that my wand was not a lollipop because I kept wanting to eat it! Daddy thought I was the cutest little Leprechan he's ever seen!

This month I did my first painting using washable paints. It was titled, "Flores" and was a picture of some beautiful spring flowers. Mommy was so proud of my work that she hung my painting on the fridge door!

I've also been learning mucho Spanish from Vigdonia at daycare. Vigdonia says I am like a sponge copying everything I hear in Spanish! Of course I talk a lot in English too...my favorite phrase lately has been, "I don't want it!"

I am getting so smart...I know the sounds that all of my favorite animals say.

Jersey Girls

At the end of March me and Mommy drove to New Jersey to visit Saba, Savta, Aunt Orly, Uncle Yariv and Great Grandma Sylvia for Passover. Mommy was really excited because I slept the entire way there...four and a half hours...and I never nap that long in the mornings! I had a great time playing with Saba in the mornings and watching Dora On Demand while Mommy slept in! I also had fun climbing up the stairs and Savta taught me how to go down the stairs faster by sliding backwards on my belly. My Aunt Orly went shopping with me and Mommy for some clothes for my baby brother and my Uncle Yariv had fun playing blocks with me. I also had a great time visiting my Grandma Sylvia and playing in her sunroom with the flowers. Grandma Sylvia calls me "Little Nose" which Mommy thinks is a cute nickname so lately she has been calling me Little Nose too!

Saba likes to make sure everything is perfect when Mommy and me come to visit so he stocks the pantry with my favorite foods...yogurt, goldfish and macaroni and cheese. I ate a lot of macaroni and cheese while I was in New Jersey. Everyone was impressed at how good I am at using my own spoon to eat.

Sports Girl!

If you know my Daddy...you know how much my Daddy loves sports (and Mommy too)...but I am definitely a Daddy's Girl! I love watching hockey and basketball on TV and lately I've been into baseball ad golf too! Mommy bought me a mini hockey stick to start practicing with until my feet are big enough for me to actually hit the ice! And...Mommy and Daddy took me mini-golfing on a nice Saturday. I had more fun swiping the ball and trying to throw it into the water hazards than I did hitting it but Mommy did manage to get a few good shots of Daddy teaching me how to swing a club.

C-A-P-S Caps, Caps, Caps!

We have been spending A LOT of time lately being Caps fans and naturally some of my favorite words are Caps words like hockey, Slapshot, Holtby and "Let's Go Caps!" In April, me and Mommy and Daddy went to Six Flags America in Maryland for the Season Ticket Holder Party. I thought the best part of the night was getting my picture taken with Slapshot but I also enjoyed meeting some of my favorite players and taking a ride on the train and mini-helicoptors.

Mommy and Daddy (and pretty much everyone else I see at the games) think I am the cutest Caps fan! I love to clap, Rock the Red, high five when we score and dance at the games. And except for one playoff game recently, I am no longer falling asleep in the third period! We were so excited that the Caps picked it up and ended up winning the Southeastern Confenrence because we really wanted to see some playoff hockey at the Verizon Center this postseason.
