Fall is Mommy's favorite season because there are so many fun things to do outside. We've been very busy doing so many fun fall things on our weekends that we haven't had time to update the blog but Mommy wanted us to get caught up before Thanksgiving and Hanukkah come so we've got a big job ahead of us today getting everyone up to date on what we've been up to.
Happy birthday to...
This fall I celebrated a lot of important birthdays with my family and friends. In September, we celebrated Saba and Safta's birthday with a chocolate cake before they left for their trip to Europe. We also went to my friend Nicky's third birthday party and I called my cousin Morgan to wish her a happy birthday too! In October, we went to my friend Jeremy's second birthday and I called my Aunt Orly on the phone for her birthday. We also celebrated Daddy's birthday with Nana at a Japanese Steakhouse and a yummy vanilla cake. And of course I celebrated my birthday in style too! One of my favorite songs these days is "Happy Birthday" and I like singing it to everyone and everything. "Happy Birthday to Daddy, Happy Birthday to Soda, Happy Birthday to Cake, Happy Birthday to Count, Happy Birthday to Halloween and Happy Birthday to Elmo..." I literally sing to everyone and everything and I LOVE celebrating birthdays!

Hooray...I'm TWO!
This year we decided to have my birthday party at a park because our house is not big enough for all of my friends and family. Daddy and me spent a Sunday scoping out some parks and found the perfect one for my birthday party. It had picnics tables and a playground for me and my friends to play on.

We celebrated my second birthday on a very cold day in October. All of my friends and lots of Mommy and Daddy's friends came to the park to celebrate with me. I was so happy to have all of my favorite people in one place...especially because I was the center of attention for everyone. I helped Mommy and Daddy pick out a Sesame Street theme for the party. We even have a Cookie Monster pinata filled with candy, toys and beaded necklaces. We had a delicious chocolate cake and pizza, chips and veggies to eat. This year Mommy showed Daddy the sparkler she had in mind for my cake and there was much less smoke than last year! I also got so many awesome presents. I wish it could be MY birthday everyday but Mommy says that I have to take turns and let everyone have a chance to be the birthday girl or boy...even Mommy and Daddy get a turn!

When Mommy was growing up, the Amir family had a tradition for birthdays. Safta always decorated a birthday basket and filled it with goodies and favorite candies. When you woke up on the morning of your birthday...the birthday basket would be sitting on your nightstand. Mommy thought it would be a fun tradition to keep going with the Fritz family so she found the actual birthday basket at Saba and Safta's house and brought it home to our house. Then Safta helped Mommy decorate it for my birthday and Mommy went out and bought special goodies to fill it up with. This year I got hair elastics, lollipops, a Sesame Street DVD, Sesame Street silly straws and some other fun little things.

Hayrides and Kettle Corn
One weekend in the middle of October, my daddy took a trip to Tennessee to watch a Tennessee football game and to visit Betty Grams and Grand Dad. Mommy, Griffin and me invited my amigos Sam and Niko to join us at Cox Farms for a fun Saturday. Sam and Niko came with their mommy Ann and their grandma too. We had such a fun day...especially me because I LOVE hanging out with Niko. We ate kettle corn and watched a show about milking cows. We looked at the piglets, baby chickens, goats and cows too. We also went on a hayride. I was a little scared on the hayride and was holding on tight to my Mommy. I only liked the part when the cowboy came out riding a horse and I got to pet the horse because he came right up next to where I was sitting on the tractor. Mommy had her hands full with me and Griffin so she wasn't able to get many good pictures but Ann got some cute ones of me and the boys.

Sports Fanatics!
I live in a house full of sports fanatics....including ME! I love watching college football, NFL football and hockey with my Mommy and Daddy...and I LOVE dressing up in my team gear. My brother is turning into a sports nut too...the only problem we have is that most of our teams aren't doing very good this season. At least the Caps are playing pretty well!

Griffin's Monthly Milestones!

Griffy has reached a few monthly milestones during our busy fall. On September 28th he turned 4 months old and on October 28th....my birthday...he turned 5 months. He may be 19 months younger than me but my baby brother is a big guy. At his four month checkup he weighed 19.5 pounds. A few weeks later at my two year old checkup...I weighed almost 24 pounds. Griffin is way different than I was as a baby. He is always hungry and he loves to eat. Mommy had to start him on rice cereal at five months because he was drinking so much milk but he was still always hungry. I never ate when I was a baby. I was always so content just sitting and watching. Griffy loves to kick and try to roll over. Now that we've setup the Jumparoo for him...Griffy loves to bounce and bounce and bounce and bounce. Everyone loves how much Griffin smiles and how happy he always is. Mommy says he's a flirt! Mommy also thinks that Griffin looks a lot like my Uncle Yariv. At first nobody agreed with Mommy but than Safta found a picture that proved Mommy was right...especially when Griffy's eating his hands.

Playtime with my Neighborhood Buddies!
This fall I have been spending a lot of time playing with my neighborhood buddies all around Burning Forest Court. We like to play bikes, basketball, sidewalk chalk and trampoline sometimes. We also like to just run around and play. Mommy spends a lot of time playing outside with me while we are waiting for Daddy to get home from work for dinnertime. Griffy is usually in Mommy's pouch. A lot of times I fall asleep in the car on the way home and my friends are waiting for me when Mommy's car pulls in. They like to get me out of my car seat but I can be very grumpy when I first wake up...especially if I don't see Daddy or Mommy but I do LOVE playing with my friends.

Arts and Crafty
While Mommy was busy...sewing, cutting, measuring, gluing, decorating...our Halloween costumes, I was busy with some art projects of my own. I love coloring, painting, stamping and anything crafty. Sometime I spring out of bed and cry for "pintar" because I'd rather be coloring than sleeping. Mommy lets me sit with the lap desk and color while I watch my favorite show Sesame Street. My favorite things to draw are monkeys, Griffin, pumpkins and my name although the name part looks nothing like the actual letters in my name. Sometimes I let Mommy trace my hands. I had fun making my birthday party thank you notes with Mommy and Daddy. We also had fun as a family carving our big pumpkins and painting our little one. Mommy carved one pumpkin and Daddy carved the other. I helped Mommy and Daddy decide what shapes to use to make the eyes and nose and mouth. I like stars so Mommy and Daddy both used stars on their pumpkins. I used my washable green, purple and blue paint to decorate my little pumpkin.

Everyone knows I'm a picky eater...well most of the time...except when it comes to dessert and sweets. I love ice cream and pudding especially and now that I'm learning to use the toilet by myself, I earn special rewards (semi sweet chocolate chips) when I don't need my diaper. Another new favorite is peanut butter. Mommy and Saba like to eat peanut butter right out of the jar with a spoon. Now that I know what is in the jar...I always ask Mommy for my own spoon so I can eat peanut butter too. Sometimes I take the jar away from Mommy and I don't let her help me. My favorite line is "My do it!" Sometimes I also have a hard time sharing with Mommy when there is peanut butter involved.
Happy Halloween!
Even though I dressed up for Halloween last year, this was the first year I really got the full Halloween experience...and I LOVED it! Last year Hurricane Sandy was making her way up the Northeast and we didn't have power. We had also been stuck on our street for a few days because of a giant tree that had fallen down across the opening to our street. Very few kids went trick or treating and it was freezing cold. BUT this year, we had a great Halloween on Burning Forest Court. Mommy spent the weekends in October working on our handmade Halloween costumes. Griffy was a grey owl. Mommy sewed his felt feathers, face and feet onto a hoodie and sweatpants. He looked sooo cute! I was a peacock. Mommy worked with our neighbor Sarah on the tutu with the peacock tail feathers. Then Mommy made me a peacock feather fan to wear like a backpack. It was double sided and had real peacock feathers. Mommy also made me a peacock head piece with peacock feathers, pipe-cleaners, styrofoam balls and glitter spray paint. Underneath all of my handmade pieces I wore a royal blue leotard and royal blue tights. To finish of my look, Mommy made me swirly makeup with teals, greens, blues and blacks. I got so many compliments on my costume! Since Mommy put so much time into the costumes, she was happy that I got to wear it twice...once to trick or treating and once to our neighborhood Halloween party the weekend before Halloween. Trick or treating was so much fun. I didn't really get the concept of collecting candy and did a lot of trading the candy I had for the new candy I was getting. I also blew out a few pumpkins and said, "Happy Birthday Halloween!" a few times. It was fun getting to go trick or treating with Mommy and Daddy and Griffin. Luckily Nana was willing to come and hand out our candy while we walked around.
